Cantabile
Tariffs and cost management

The real price of every quarter-hour

A dynamic tariff only pays if something acts on it. Cantabile works out what power really costs at each site, quarter-hour by quarter-hour, and hands that price to the box that does the planning.

The price curve

Composed like the bill, per 15 minutes, 48 hours ahead

Each part comes from its own source and is shown with it. The box receives the result as a signed tariff bundle and plans with it.

Energy

The supplier's product: fixed, time-of-use or dynamic. Dynamic products follow the day-ahead exchange price for Germany-Luxembourg, fetched every day.

Grid fee

The fee of the site's grid area, including the time windows of §14a EnWG module 3 where the site chose it.

Levies and taxes

Levies, electricity tax, the concession fee and VAT – each as a sourced value with its validity.

Fixed charges

The grid's base price, metering by meter type, the supplier's monthly fee – so the bill view is complete.

Dynamic tariffs, §14a

Rules that pay those who can shift

Dynamic tariffs

Since 2025, every supplier in Germany must offer customers with a smart meter a dynamic tariff that passes on the exchange price (§41a EnWG). Cantabile's box shifts heat, storage and charging into the cheap quarter-hours.

§14a EnWG

Heat pumps, wallboxes and home batteries that the grid operator may dim when the local grid is at risk of overload get a reduced grid fee. With module 3, the fee changes with the time of day – Cantabile knows these windows per grid area and plans with them.

Feed-in

The plant's feed-in rate, and the rule that new plants are not paid in hours with negative exchange prices (§51 EEG): the box knows when exporting earns nothing and stores or uses the power instead.

A catalogue of real prices – with sources and dates

Grid fees, basic-supply tariffs, levies and feed-in rates are kept in catalogues by postcode and grid area. Every value has its source, the date it was read and its validity. Provisional values – such as next year's grid fees before the final price sheet – are marked as such.
